Bladesmith

I am of Swedish descent, and am very proud of my heritage and the culture of my Scandinavian ancestors, which feeds directly into my passion for the craft of forging. I am currently 21 years old and have been blacksmithing since I was 14. I'm also a composer/musician, playing both bass guitar and cello.

In 2012, I began blacksmithing with a new friend whom had similarly abnormal interests as me, luthier Marcus Bretto. We practiced until we felt good enough to open an Etsy shop in 2014, which became much more popular than expected. With orders coming in every week, making money off of a craft I enjoyed so much inspired me to pursue it further. By then Marcus had begun to pursue violin making, and I delved further into bladesmithing and making woodworking tools for him to try out in his craft. He could tell me exactly what luthiers want in their tools, and I could forge and heat treat them to those specifications. I decided to take it to the next level when I took a pattern welded steel bladesmithing course at MassArt with ABS master smith JD Smith. In that class I learned more what it took to be a high end bladesmith, and it boosted my knowledge of blade design to new heights.

My area of expertise remains in professional grade woodworking tools for luthiers, but I will occasionally list one-off kitchen knives, filet knives, or anything else that I feel inspired to create.

Thank you for your interest and for supporting traditional crafts in this modern age.
