When I was 14 years old, I was introduced to the art of the blacksmith and never looked back. My school nights and weekends were taken over by late forging sessions in the backyard at my little homemade Viking-age travel merchant coal forge. From that, I started a successful Etsy shop in my later teenage years. As my skills grew while forging thousands of rosehead nails and demonstrating at fall festivals, my interest into the specialization of bladesmithing began to flourish. I spent countless hours researching metallurgy online, and made blades of all kinds for family and friends to gain as much experience as I could. Eventually, I was granted the opportunity to take classes in pattern welding with ABS Master smith J.D. Smith at Massachusetts College of Art and Design, as well as heat treating and hamon techniques with ABS Journeyman smith Greg Cimms at his shop in upstate New York.

Now, after years of development, vetting of materials, and refinement of process, Thorsson Blades brings to the table my own designs of high-performance lutherie tools, premium culinary knives, and more custom bladed options hand made by myself in my Northern Vermont studio!
